Refugee protection

Canada is one of the most involved countries in the World in regard to refugee protection. Someone who is unable or unwilling to return to their country of origin due to a fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, or political opinion, may be eligible to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence an as asylum seeker.
